Pierstation is a registered California company dedicated to improving shoreline access, sustainability, and community engagement through smart coastal kiosks. Born on the San Francisco Bay, our mission is simple: make fishing more accessible, more responsible, and more connected to the health of California’s coast.

We combine innovation with stewardship — providing fishermen and families with 24/7 access to bait, tackle, and pier-specific resources while promoting clean, safe, and sustainable fishing practices.

Our Story

Pierstation began as a simple idea from a group of local anglers frustrated by closed bait shops, limited resources, and growing waste along public piers. What started as a personal project quickly evolved into a statewide vision: to bring modern convenience, education, and environmental accountability directly to the waterfront.

Each Pierstation is more than a vending unit — it’s a hub for local knowledge, conservation, and community connection. From built-in line recycling systems to pier-specific gear recommendations and educational guides, every feature was designed to enhance the fishing experience while protecting the environment that makes it possible.

Partnerships & Contributions

Pierstation proudly donates a portion of every transaction to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, supporting pier maintenance, marine education, and habitat restoration programs.
We’re also committed to collaborating with local cities, harbor authorities, and environmental organizations to ensure each installation benefits both the community and the coastline it serves.

Looking Ahead

Our first pilot sites launch in 2025 across the San Francisco Bay Area, with plans to expand statewide. As we grow, so does our commitment — to clean coastlines, thriving fisheries, and a smarter, more sustainable California shoreline.
